Educational opportunities abound! Participate in the Septic Summit on Thursday, February 21. Sessions will include information on ongoing wastewater management planning, research, municipal land use planning policies, jurisdictions restricting homeowner permits, the inclusion of at-grades in the next SOP and more.
The AOWMA welcomes Cate Soroczan of the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Cate heads up onsite wastewater management research at the CMHC, and is currently spearheading research involving communities in Alberta.
In addition to a full presentation schedule, Little Giant is sponsoring a Certified Installer Training work-shop on pumps for those installing and/or maintaining onsite wastewater systems.
Participate in the technical sessions offered by manufacturers and suppliers to the industry at the Trade Show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 22, and again from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23. All are welcome to attend.

On Sunday, February 24, attend the Problem Soils in Your Backyard workshop, and enhance your soils knowledge in anticipation of the upcoming installation season. Kent Watson from Thompson Rivers University leads this interesting and informative class on problem soils, such as smectite clays.
