Last Chance To Pre-Register for Convention!

It is not too late to register for the 2013 Convention and Trade Show being held on February 21—23 at the Ramada Conference Centre, 11834 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, AB

If you are unable to attend the entire event, show your support for your industry by attending the Trade Show and Annual General Meeting on Friday, February 22.

Educational opportunities abound! Participate in the Septic Summit on Thursday, February 21. Sessions will include information on ongoing wastewater management planning, research, municipal land use planning policies, jurisdictions restricting homeowner permits, the inclusion of at-grades in the next SOP and more.

The AOWMA welcomes Cate Soroczan of the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Cate heads up onsite wastewater management research at the CMHC, and is currently spearheading research involving communities in Alberta.

In addition to a full presentation schedule, Little Giant is sponsoring a Certified Installer Training work-shop on pumps for those installing and/or maintaining onsite wastewater systems.

Participate in the technical sessions offered by manufacturers and suppliers to the industry at the Trade Show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 22, and again from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23. All are welcome to attend.

Saturday, February 23 will offer a wealth of information and education. The AOWMA welcomes Jerry Stonebridge from Stonebridge Environmental to head up a comprehensive list of industry experts. As an onsite wastewater professional with over 30 years in the industry and a past-President of both the Washington Onsite Sewerage System Association and the National Onsite Wastewater Recyclers Association, Jerry has a lot of insight and information to share with our delegates. On Sunday, February 24, attend the Problem Soils in Your Backyard workshop, and enhance your soils knowledge in anticipation of the upcoming installation season. Kent Watson from Thompson Rivers University leads this interesting and informative class on problem soils, such as smectite clays.
